Writing the First Draft: Workshop #3 in the "From Spark to Story" Workshop Series

You have the outline.

Now it’s time to begin.

This next workshop of From Spark to Story is where your ideas start to take shape on the page. Using the structure you’ve built, we’ll move into the first draft — not perfect, not polished, but real.

Together, we’ll explore uncensored freewriting as a way to move past hesitation and into momentum — writing continuously without overthinking or editing. This approach helps uncover what’s already there, often revealing clarity, voice, and direction as you go.

You’ll leave this session having started something tangible — a chapter, a story, a poem, or the beginning of something that’s been waiting to be written.

We’ll also talk about creating boundaries around your writing time — how to carve out space for your work, build consistency, and return to the page in a way that feels sustainable.

This is not about finishing. It’s about beginning.

Together we’ll explore:

  • Using uncensored freewriting to move from outline to draft

  • Letting go of perfection and writing without overthinking or editing

  • How to translate your outline into scenes, moments, or pages

  • Finding your voice and rhythm through active writing

  • Building momentum — starting even when you’re not “ready”

  • Creating boundaries around your writing time to support consistency

  • Developing a sustainable writing practice you can return to

You don’t need a finished draft — just your outline and a willingness to begin.
