This next workshop of From Spark to Story focuses on the art of revision—where good writing becomes great writing. Together, we’ll explore the craft of editing, learning how to strengthen structure, sharpen language, and identify the moments that deserve more attention on the page.
We’ll discuss practical editing techniques, from big-picture revisions to sentence-level refinement, and how to approach your work with both a critical eye and a creative spirit. Rather than viewing editing as fixing mistakes, we’ll explore it as an opportunity to deepen your voice, clarify your intentions, and elevate your story.
Whether you're working on a poem, essay, short story, novel chapter, or memoir, you'll leave with concrete tools for revising your work and greater confidence in your editing process.
We’ll also talk about building a sustainable revision practice—how to know when a piece needs more work, when it’s ready to share, and how to navigate the often-challenging space between first draft and finished piece.

About the Instructor — Gentry Bronson
Gentry Bronson is a creative professional, touring musician, and literary coach who helps artists shape ideas into finished work. A classically trained pianist in his youth, Bronson later became a songwriter, bandleader, and recording artist, writing and producing more than 100 original compositions across multiple albums and touring throughout the U.S., Europe, and Mexico. His work has received songwriting awards and appeared in film, radio, and collaborative media projects. Alongside his work in digital production, Bronson has built a career guiding creatives through the process of developing meaningful projects. As a writer, he has published more than 70 essays and stories across platforms including Medium, The Memoirist Quarterly, and his Substack The Key of G.
